Brendan Murray has participated in The X Factor UK’s “six chair challenge” with the hopes of taking home one of the six chairs.
When Murray entered the room, he told the judges that his goal in being there was to realize a dream and that music was his love. He then confronts the other contestants who have already taken their places on stage after they wish him luck. The hit song “Everybody Hurts,” written and performed by the group R.E.M., is then introduced by Brendan.
Everyone was shocked by his comments, including the assessors. In addition, you can hear the other competitors complimenting him on his sound quality. The other contestants’ heads slump when Brendan sings the song’s high notes because they realize that only one of them will remain on stage for very long.
Brendan sings with such intensity that you experience both the feelings Brendan is feeling and the emotions the song’s author wanted you to experience.
Brendan finishes his performance to a standing ovation from the panel of judges and the audience, and then he slumps to the floor while acting upset.
Simon Cowell informs Brendan that he is in a distinct group from the other contestants. Before clicking the button to move the candidate to the following stage of the competition, another judge approaches Brendan and says he wants to speak with him. Everyone is ecstatic to hear this amazing talent again, particularly Brendan.
