Olivia Wilde shows off her sensational figure in a plunging velvet dress as she celebrates her 40th birthday

Olivia Wilde rang in her 40th birthday in a big way on Sunday, by hitting the red carpet at the star-studded Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Los Angeles.

The actress showed her beauty is only improving with her age as she arrived in a figure-hugging black velvet gown.

The sultry strapless number boasted a plunging neckline for added sex appeal and a small mermaid train.

Olivia added a touch of extra glamour with a pair of dangly diamond earrings and completed her look with dramatic winged black eyeliner.

The Don’t Worry Darling director kicked off her birthday with a delivery of a large bouquet of spring flowers.

She took to her Instagram Stories to show off her floral gift and the special birthday decorations in her house.

Olivia shared a photo of a tower of doughnuts with a happy birthday banner over them that she captioned: ‘So far so yummy.’

She also shared a photo of a shimmery gold wall of steamers and birthday balloons that her two children, Otis, nine, and Daisy, seven, had apparently put up.

She captioned the snap: ‘What I came home to,’ before quipping: ‘It’s actually not until tomorrow so I woke them up and made them take it all down’.

Oppenheimer won a whopping seven Oscars at Sunday night’s Academy Awards — while rival Barbie only won one.

Meanwhile Emma Stone led Poor Things to an impressive four including her Best Actress win and UK film The Zone Of Interest won two at the gala event held at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

The historical epic directed by Christopher Nolan swept the major categories with wins for Best Actor Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actor Robert Downey Jr. and Nolan — with the film also winning Best Picture.

In contrast, Barbie, who memorably won against Oppenheimer in the ‘Barbenheimer’ box office showdown over the summer,

walked away with just one award for Best Original Song for What Was I Made For? by Billie Eilish and Finneas McConnell.
